Pathways is the sole program and emergency shelter offering at New Directions for Women, New Directions for Families with Children, and Snug Harbor Transitional Living Facility for Women. To receive shelter at these locations, clients must be a part of the Pathways program.
Both Pathways and Essentials are offered at the Men’s Shelter, providing a structured program offering designed to help single men end homelessness, poverty, and addiction (Pathways), and a no barrier shelter option for single men who are not yet ready to participate in a program.
During severe weather conditions such as below freezing temperatures, heat advisories, and extreme weather events such as hurricanes and tropical storms, our Men’s and Women’s Shelters open beyond bed capacity, providing a safe place for those in relief from harsh conditions.
Dinner is available at our Men’s Shelter to anyone who is in need of a meal, regardless of if they are a client of New Directions. Each night from 6:30 – 7:00pm, a hot dinner is served to go 6:30 – 7:00 pm in the Men’s Shelter parking lot. (Links to Volunteer, Directions to Men’s Shelter)
Clients whose best option to ending homelessness is to go home to reunite with family or other support systems can receive transportation assistance on a case by case basis. (Get Help)
