Bank of America Continues Their Partnership Through 10k Grant Award

Bank of America recently selected New Directions as a recipient of a 2023 grant funding. Their $10,000 grant award will help fund our Pathways Program and provide over 500 nights of shelter, meals, basic needs, and resources to those in crisis. New Directions has a longstanding partnership with Bank of America and was selected as their as their first Neighborhood Champion for the Myrtle Beach market. Awarded in 2019, the Neighborhood Champion grant provided $50,000 in initial funding for our Men’s Shelter Upstairs Renovation Project which was completed in the fall of 2021. Since then, Bank of America has supported New Directions through subsequent grant awards, corporate matching gifts, and employee volunteerism. Bank of America Volunteers cook and serve quarterly for our Community Dinner program and work with us to improve our clients’ financial literacy through monthly Better Money Habits classes at our shelters. We are so grateful for their partnership through this grant, as well as the year-round support of our local partners, Kelly Tyler, President, Bank of America Myrtle Beach; Cecilia Evans, Market Executive, and the Bank of America Myrtle Beach team.
