From The Desk of Kathy Jenkins: Together, We Can Bring Hope During a Time of Growing Need

Summer has brought record demand for our shelter services, and our facilities continue to operate at or near capacity as individuals and families seek relief from the extreme heat. Our walk-in center is open from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, providing respite from the heat and showers for the unhoused living on the streets.

As we closed our fiscal year, New Directions served 1,015 adults, 129 children, and 64 families, helping 437 individuals and families achieve permanent, positive housing solutions. We also reunited 367 people with support systems and provided more than 10,000 nights of emergency shelter to nearly 700 unhoused men and women.

At the same time, rising operational costs have made it more important than ever to grow our community of supporters. As we begin a new fiscal year, we invite you to help sustain our mission by becoming a new donor, or by volunteering your time.

We kindly ask you to save the date for our First Annual Clay Shoot tournament this Fall on 11/13/26 and the return of Compassion Through Fashion in the Spring 3/12/27.

Thank you for being part of this journey, and we wish you a happy and safe remainder of summer!

With heartfelt appreciation,
Kathy Jenkins
Chief Executive Officer
